Please note: This was a “user request” which we considered to be very important. As it allows you to decide which data units you wish to use and report on. Depending if you are in the US, EU, UK or wider-a-field you can choose the data unit which suits you. Enjoy!
🌬️ Why are Data Units important in Air Quality?
Air pollution concentrations are commonly expressed as:
- µg/m³ (micrograms per cubic metre)
→ Mass-based, regulatory, health-driven
- ppm / ppb (parts per million/billion)
→ Volume-based, operational, industrial, engineering-driven
You can now toggle how air-quality data is displayed in Analysis, choosing the unit system that best matches your region, role, or reporting needs.
Different countries, regulators, industries, and professions are trained to think in one or the other; so to have the ability to toggle between the two just before you press the “Run Analysis” button is kind cool, right?
Please note: Conversion steps considers Temperature and Pressure is set to 20C and 1atm (1013hPa)

What’s new
- Added a unit toggle in Analysis for supported pollutants
- Switch instantly between mass-based units (µg/m³ / mg/m³) and volume-based units (ppm / ppb)
- No change to underlying data — display only
Why this matters
- Aligns MyAir and your data with regional reporting standards (UK, EU, USA, global)
- Reduces the need for manual unit conversion - saves you loads of time!
- Makes it easier to share outputs with stakeholders who expect specific units… which reduces your cognitive load.
PLEASE NOTE: ppb / ppm apply only to gases, and particulates are always displayed in µg/m3

Regional standards supported
- UK / EU
- Gases and particulates displayed in µg/m³ (CO also supported in mg/m³)
- USA
- Gases displayed in ppb / ppm
- Particulates displayed in µg/m³
- Global users can choose the unit system that matches local practice or organisational preference
Good to know
- ✅ Calculations and alerts are unchanged
- ✅ Historical data is not affected
- ℹ️ CO₂ remains informational only (not a statutory ambient air-quality pollutant)
