Proceed to set up and deploy your Zephyr air quality sensor using the installation manual.

What do I need to do before deployment?

Zephyrs arrive more-or-less ready to go. Here are a couple of steps you can take to make deployment as silky smooth as possible. Note, in this section we’ll just look at the monitor itself, and not worry about requirements that your project and sites might have such as permissions and network co-locations.

1. Charge your Zephyr on a mains power supply

We always recommend charging every Zephyr just before installation. A full Zephyr battery will last a around few days, depending on cartridge type, but being fully charged beforehand will protect against teething problems or some consecutive days of poor solar early on in the deployment.

2. Familiarise yourself with your Zephyr

Our quick set-up guide will take you through the basics, but being hands-on with your monitor allows you to learn the basics of starting and stopping sampling and viewing data in MyAir in a controlled way. If you have any questions, you can contact EarthSense Support.

I have deployed my Zephyr. What do I do next?

Once set-up, deployed and the sample programme has been activated (see Installation and Quick Set-up Guide) the Zephyr will start taking measurements. The data recorded will start to appear in MyAir, the details for which will be in your Welcome Email.

Note:

  • It may take a while after the Zephyr is switched on to establish a network connection and start uploading data. If data is not appearing in the MyAir web app after two hours please contact  sales@earthsense.co.uk. A member of our support will check connectivity and discuss any further actions required.
  • Depending on how long the Zephyr has been left idle before deployment there may be a settling-in period over which the internal sensors stabilise. This can take up to 5 days, again if in doubt please contact the Support team who will review the data being recorded.
