A Zephyr battery life is up to 5 days when sampling.
However, there are various factors that will impact it’s life:
- Depends on power mode i.e. sampling and upload frequency. 10 second sampling uses more than 1 minute sampling. GPS is turned off on power saving mode.
- Depends on cartridge type - Enhanced cartridges use more power than standards, and dual cartridge setups (e.g. Enhanced++) use even more and may run a Zephyr flat in 2 days. Connecting an external met station will also drain the battery quickly and we recommend that these high power-use Zephyrs are be kept on constant mains power if possible.
A Zephyr with its sampling programme stopped may hold charge for over a week, but will still slowly use battery as it keeps its sensors ready to go on-demand.
